Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional-Fellow

Advanced Certification for Compliance and Ethics Professionals

Compliance Certification Board (CCB) – 10 years of certifying more than 2600 Compliance and Ethics Professionals

Working with the Compliance Certification Board, the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) began the development of a professional certification for compliance and ethics professionals in 2005 and launched the Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional designation in September 2006. Now, we are proud to announce the launch of the Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional-Fellow (CCEP-F), an advanced certification program for compliance and ethics professionals. Applications for the CCEP-F will be accepted starting in September 2009.

The purpose of the fellowship level of certification is to promote the profession of compliance and ethics practice by:

  1. Recognizing formally those individuals who meet the eligibility requirements.
  2. Encouraging continued personal and professional growth in the practice of compliance and ethics.
  3. Providing a national standard of requisite knowledge required for advanced certification; thereby assisting employers, the public, and members of the professions in the assessment of a compliance and ethics professional.

SCCE’s basic and advanced certifications were developed by the Compliance Certification Board (CCB), which owes its formation to SCCE’s sister organization, the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA). In 1998, the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) set out to develop a certification program for healthcare compliance professionals.  After preliminary work by the Education Committee of the HCCA Board of Directors, in 1999 HCCA established the Compliance Certification Board (CCB) and charged it with developing and managing a certification exam and process.

The independent CCB is governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the HCCA board.  The President and Immediate Past President of HCCA are ex-officio members of the CCB Board of Directors.   The mission of the CCB is to develop criteria for the determination of competence in the practice of health care compliance at a variety of levels and to recognize individuals meeting these criteria. Thus, far more than 2,600 compliance and ethics professionals have been certified by the CCB.

In 2005, the CCB created the Fellowship Committee from among individuals certified in their field to develop criteria for the Certified in Healthcare Compliance Fellowship (CHC-F).  In 2009, the Fellowship Certification Committee, comprised of experienced compliance and ethics professionals, developed the CCEP-F.
