CCEP Renewal

Attaining certification is an indication of mastery of a well-defined body of knowledge at a point in time. Periodic renewal of the certification is required to maintain certified status. Initial certification or renewal of certification is valid for two years. Every two years, you will then need 40 Continuing Education Units to renew.  Please fill out the CCEP Renewal Application (web form) or the CCEP Renewal Application (PDF) and fax to +1 952 988 0146. The fee is $100 for members and $200 for non-members.

Certificants may renew their certification through one of two routes:

  1. Documentation of 40 CCEP continuing education credits and payment of the renewal fee OR
  2. Re-examination and appropriate fee when eligibility requirements are satisfied

Renewal Reminders: Courtesy reminders for your renewal date will be sent, but failure to receive reminders does not constitute petitions when renewal procedures are not followed.  It is ultimately the responsibility of the certified individual to keep track of and submit the appropriate renewal papers prior to his/her expiration date with or without notification from the certification board.

A certificant who fails to renew his/her certification within 2 years is no longer considered certified and may not use the credential awarded for certification in professional communications, such as on letterhead, stationery and business cards, in directory listings and in signature.

TO OBTAIN CEUS
There are various ways you may obtain credits.  In general:

CCEP credits are accumulated by participating in CCEP accredited seminars, workshops and conferences, writing for a publication, serving as an instructor or facilitator of compliance related education.

  • Attend one of many educational SCCE events ranging from 1–4 days: earn CEUs and network with your peer
  • Publication review: CEUs are available for the Compliance & Ethics Journal and the Complete Compliance & Ethics Manual  (please note: a maximum of 50% o of your CEUs may come from publication reviews)
  • Attend a CCEP-accredited event (see www.corporatecompliance.org for a roster of approved events)
  • Submit non-SCCE sponsored events for accreditation consideration using an individual application.  This format of CEU only applies to live events and from CDs of live events that fall in your maintenance period
  • Submit presentations or published articles

If you use Continuing Education Units from events not accredited by SCCE, you may apply independently for credits. Individuals seeking accreditation for a program which did not have SCCE credits awarded may submit an Individual Accreditation Application
