The COVID-19 situation has been improving in some areas, yet there are still struggles in others. As we plan our programs for the second half of 2021, we will introduce the return of some in-person conferences, while continuing to have a healthy slate of virtual events.  We are planning for SCCE’s 20th annual Compliance and Ethics Institute, in September, to be an in-person conference with a virtual component. Appropriate health and safety measures will be taken for any in-person event we hold. Other conferences later in the year may follow a similar format, but we will make firm decisions on the in-person and/or virtual format for subsequent conferences in the coming months.

We also plan to begin holding in-person Compliance & Ethics Academies in August with reduced-capacity and appropriate safety measures.

It’s exciting to see things beginning to return to something resembling normal. We aren’t there yet and it will be some time before we’re in the clear. But the time has come for us to make plans to carefully begin holding in-person events once again beginning in a few months. Obviously, if things change, we won’t hesitate to delay holding in-person events, as everyone’s health and safety are our top priorities.

Let’s hope things continue to progress. All of us are looking forward to the days when we can have a face-to-face conversation once again!
